Richmonders Involved to Strengthen our Communities (RISC)

Richmonders Involved to Strengthen our Communities (RISC) is a grassroots congregation-based organization comprising diverse congregations throughout the Greater Richmond region. With 22 diverse member congregations, RISC represents over 5,000 citizens in Richmond city, Henrico and Chesterfield counties. RISC unites the community across socioeconomic, racial, geographic, and denominational backgrounds, including Protestant, Unitarian, and Jewish faith traditions.Across​ ​our​ ​faith​ ​traditions,​ we​ ​are​ ​called​ ​to seek​ ​justice​ ​-​ ​holding​ ​those​ ​in​ ​power accountable​ ​for​ ​the​ ​fair​ ​treatment​ ​of​ ​all people,​ ​especially​ ​the​ ​poor​ ​and​ ​oppressed. One​ ​person,​ ​or​ ​even​ ​one​ ​congregation, cannot​ ​hold​ ​our​ ​public​ ​officials​ ​accountable alone.​ ​Through​ ​RISC,​ ​we​ ​build​ ​the​ ​power of​ ​organized​ ​people​ ​to​ ​achieve​ ​a​ ​just community. Our mission is to build a powerful community of racially, religiously, and socioeconomically diverse congregations who address the root causes of injustice in the Greater Richmond Region.
